Speech 6 Reflection

Through making this speech, I realized how many improvements I’ve made this semester in my public speaking ability. I am proud of my accomplishments, and I think that showed in my speech through my words and delivery. This speech was structured and organized, yet I think it had more of a conversational element than my other speeches. Although I have improved in this aspect of public speaking, I hope to continue learning to speak more extemporaneously, especially in less formal speeches. For each point, I included justifications and evidence to make my opinions persuasive. By using specific moments when I learned and improved, the audience is more likely to believe my points. I was honest about my struggles with public speaking and how I overcame them which is convincing through emotional appeal. I wasn’t sure how to incorporate the audience effectively in this speech, but I would try to appeal to listeners directly in future persuasive speeches.
